ORU Student Support Services is committed to providing a community that ensures full participation for students. We coordinate accommodations for students that facilitate their independence and academic progress.

The Disability Services Office is located on the 5th floor of the LRC, next to the Writing Center. Requests for accommodations, whether physical or academic, should be made through Disability Services by contacting our office at (918)495-6655 or email disabilityservices@oru.edu

Student Support Services, in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, facilitates reasonable accommodations to students based upon their individual needs. Accommodations offered to students through this office include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Extended time on exams
  • Distraction reduced testing rooms
  • Flexibility in attendance for disability related absences
  • Adapted HPE courses
  • Additional accommodations in policy deemed reasonable

You may also do the following at our office:

  • Receive consultation on disability issues
  • Register assistance animals

Under ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, a postsecondary institution is not required to provide accommodations that would be considered personal services (i.e. transportation to campus or classes, assistance with personal hygiene, etc.)

Accommodations are to be renewed each semester, simply by completing the one-page Student Renewal Form.
