The 2026 Alumni Association Board of Directors Election
The ORU Alumni Association Board of Directors is preparing for the February 2026 election. Alumni who are interested in serving on the Alumni Board are encouraged to run for office.
There are seven (7) openings to fill:
Segment 1 (1968-79): 1
Segment 2 (1980-89): 1
Segment 3 (1990-99): 1
Segment 4 (2000-09): 1
Segment 5 (2010-19): 1
At Large (any class/college): 2

Applications are open Tuesday, August 26, 2025 – Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Submit your application by the September 30 deadline to be considered for a spot on the 2026 ballot. Click on the button below to apply.

Election Timeline:
Applications Open: August 26, 2025
Last Day to Submit Applications: September 30, 2025
Nominating Committee Reviews Applications and Conducts Virtual Interviews: August – October 2025
Slate Finalized: Mid-November 2025 (during fall Board meeting)
Slate Results Communicated to Applicants: By end of November 2025
Election Begins: February 1, 2026
Last Day to Submit Election Ballots: February 28, 2026
Election Results Communicated to Candidates: Beginning of March 2026
Elected Candidates Begin Term: May 2026 (start of spring Board meeting)
Terms and Eligibility:
Directors are elected to serve one (1) three (3)-year term. Eligible Directors may run for re-election at the conclusion of their term; Directors are limited to serving a maximum of three (3) consecutive three (3)-year terms. Twenty-four (24) months after the conclusion of a former Director’s third (3rd) term, the former Director is once again eligible to run for office.
All ORU graduates are eligible to run for office. Alumni may run for an opening in their Segment or in the At Large category. Segments are determined by the graduation year associated with the first (1st) ORU degree alumni have earned. Each segment is represented by two (2) Directors.
In accordance with the Alumni Association Bylaws, alumni employed in either of the following manners are not eligible to run for the Board: 1) full-time and part-time ORU employees or 2) full-time and part-time employees of any post-secondary educational institution deemed a competitor of ORU by the Department of Enrollment.
Key Alumni Board Requirements:
Directors are required to participate in the fall and spring Board meetings at ORU, additional all-Board virtual meetings, and virtual meetings associated with their respective committees.
The Alumni Board is an active board that operates within the following standing committees: Alumni Awards, Communications, Events, Finance, and Nominating. All Directors are required to serve on a minimum of two (2) committees.
All Directors are expected to invest their time, talent, and resources into ORU. This expectation requires all Directors to support ORU financially every fiscal year of their term. The amount and designation of each gift is at each board member’s discretion.
