Veteran Scholarships and Resources
Make ORU Affordable
Serving our country is worthy of honor. One of the ways organizations honor our nation’s veterans is through the awarding of scholarships. We have assembled a list of the primary scholarships available for veterans and their dependents, as well as a wide range of resources that are available to help veterans and their dependents through a variety of means.
The American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship provides college funding to children of post-9/11
veterans who died on active duty, or those who have a combined VA disability rating
of 50 percent or greater. Typically, applications are submitted to the program staff upon the participants’
arrival at American Legion Boys State or American Legion Auxiliary Girls State and

adopted child of a wartime U.S. military veteran who served on active duty during
at least one of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates for
American Legion membership. This application is specific to veterans, active duty and guard/reserves. This application is specific to spouses of veterans, active duty and guard/reserves. This application is specific to children or grandchildren of veterans, active duty
