Join Air Force ROTC at ORU

Oral Roberts University is proud to partner with the U.S. Department of the Air Force to offer Air Force ROTC—an opportunity to earn a commission as an officer in the U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force. Through this dynamic program, students grow as Whole Leaders, grounded in faith and prepared to lead with integrity, resilience, and excellence.

In-State Tuition for All ROTC Cadets
Thanks to Oklahoma Senate Bill 138, all ROTC students in Oklahoma—regardless of residency—receive in-state rates for tuition, housing, fees, and other costs.

ORU cadets may qualify for the In-College Scholarship Program, awarded based on academic performance, physical fitness, and ROTC involvement. Enlisted airmen can apply for:

  • Airman Scholarship and Commissioning Program (ASCP)
  • Scholarships for Outstanding Airmen to ROTC (SOAR)

To apply, you must be a U.S. citizen by the end of your first term, pass a Department of Defense Medical Review Board exam, and meet fitness standards.

Cadets gain real-world leadership experience through:

  • Weekly Aerospace Studies courses
  • Leadership Laboratory sessions
  • Cadet-led clubs and activities

You’ll learn to lead and follow—building discipline, teamwork, and confidence that sets you apart.

In addition to leadership training, cadets may participate in Professional Development Training (PDT) experiences, such as:

  • Base visits
  • Parachute and glider training
  • Special tactics exercises

These immersive opportunities help you explore career paths and prepare for active duty service.

Upon graduation, AFROTC cadets enter the military as officers—leaders entrusted with responsibility, resources, and impact from day one. Benefits include:

  • Competitive pay
  • Housing allowance
  • Healthcare
  • Global travel
  • Ongoing educational and leadership development
