Who We Are
The College of Education is a community of professional educators with broad experience in education at every level, from preschool to graduate school, in the classroom and administration, across the U.S. and around the world. We are also Christ-followers, and see no conflict between intellectual pursuits and spirituality, research and revelation.
What We Believe
The College of Education Vision Statement is based upon Romans 12:2
Transformed Educators
Transforming Society
The Miracle Ahead—A Transformed Generation
In keeping with the University’s academic vision, we believe that education is the shaping of the whole person: spirit, mind, and body. This drives the vision of the College of Education to prepare professionals to go into every person’s world as transformed educators who transform society.
The transformation described in Romans 12:2 is a call to a new way of thinking. The Romans 12 imperative of a renewed mind is followed by statements on identity, relationships, motivation, and service. This transformation produces and is manifested in both attitudes and actions. In the context of professional preparation for educators, this renewal of the mind involves gaining professional knowledge, skills, and dispositions; understanding the will of God as revealed in scripture and the leading of the Holy Spirit; and taking action to benefit students, schools, and society.
What We Do…
In addition to teaching classes full of bright, enthusiastic students, we partner with local schools and provide professional development to public and private Christian schools in the U.S. and internationally. We are trainers for national accrediting agencies, lead accrediting teams, serve on boards of local and national organizations, research, publish, and present at national conferences.
