ORU ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Meet the Board:
Segment 1 (1968-79) Representatives
Bill Middleton '74
Gene Steiner '71
In the fall of 1970, I transferred to ORU from a small college in Iowa and my life
forever changed. I got saved, filled with the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and met
DeLois Sadler who became my wife in 1973; both of us graduated in 1974. I retired
in 2021 after a 42-year career as an Agent with State Farm Insurance, having earned
the professional designations of CFP, ChFC, and CLU. I have always been actively involved
in my church and community: 10+ years Public School Board member, 25+ years Planning
& Zoning Commission, 15+ years Eastern OK Workforce Board, plus various advisory academic
and sports booster clubs. I am a past recipient of State Farm's Volunteer of the Year
Award for the State of Oklahoma. However, DeLois’ and my major focus has always been
to serve as lay workers in our local church. Carbondale Assembly of God has been our
home church for the past 29 years, where I have served on the Church Board; as treasurer,
teacher, and choir member; and on the Foreign Missions teams. We are blessed to be
ORU Legacy parents and grandparents. Three of our four children attended ORU, and
our two oldest granddaughters are current ORU students. DeLois and I, plus all of
our family (4 children and spouses + 9 grandchildren, soon to be 10), live within
10 miles of the university and are all very invested in helping ORU remain true to
the mission upon which it was founded. DeLois and I are 10+-year members of the President's
Circle and members of the Golden Eagle Club. I also had the privilege of serving on
the Alumni Board from 2012 to 2014. I appreciate the opportunity to serve once again. Gene Steiner (ORU 1971) served in business and ministry development for the past ten
years. He is currently the director of Victory In Jesus, a nonprofit ministry. For
decades, Gene served as media director and producer for major TV ministries and CEO
of several ad agencies, including Creative Media, LLC (since 2001) and The Raymond
Wallace Agency. He served CBN and Pat Robertson for seven years, was a Christian TV
station manager in Denver, and has overseen multi-million-dollar ad campaigns, TV
and radio airtime contracts for networks that broadcast the thousands of ministry
programs he produced. Gene traveled to seven countries and produced crusades televised
LIVE on TBN from Nigeria and India, and tape delayed from Russia. He has been an ordained
minister of the Gospel since 1988, has taught media courses for Christ for the Nations
Institute, Dallas for eight years, and served as Billy Joe Daugherty’s Media Director
at Victory (Tulsa). He served on the ORU Alumni Board and as treasurer of the Foundation
board in the 1990s. After celebrating his 50-year marriage to Kathy Korell (ORU 1972),
Kathy passed - going on to her eternal reward in heaven. Gene now lives in Kyle, Texas,
a Metro Austin suburb. He has two grown children (Joy and Justin, both ORU alumni)
and three grandchildren. Gene loves ORU and desires to see it continue to grow and
thrive as a prominent charismatic Christian university educating the whole person.
Segment 2 (1980-89) Representatives

for 26 years and throughout his medical career. During his time at ORU, where he earned
two degrees (’81, ’85-MD), Skip was an academic chairman, a regular at Friday Night
Communion, and won 3 titles each in intramural powerlifting and wrestling. He is semi-retired
from medicine and enjoys public speaking, coaching, and is an unofficial amateur wrestling
aficionado. Dr. Mondragon is a Distinguished Toastmaster and enjoys speech contests. He recently
placed in the Top 50 of the Next Top Speaker 5, out of over 7,200 applicants. Skip

health issues, including delivering the TEDX talk, “Tough Guys are an Endangered Species.”
He is also the Author of Wrestling Depression is Not For Wimps! Skip is active in his local church as lay reader, prayer leader, and Lay Eucharistic
Minister. One of the main reasons Skip wants to serve on the Alumni Board is to advocate
for the faculty because of the strong relationships he's forged with faculty members
and the profound impact they had on his life. Skip wants generations of ORU students
to enjoy these kinds of relationships. He's convinced that ORU will only remain as
strong and vibrant as its faculty. Skip's true claim to fame is his wife of almost 45 years, Sherry, who has endured
far too many moves and overlooks his many idiosyncrasies. He is also proud of his
5 independent and contributing adult children and his 6 grandchildren, with number
7 on the way. And as Skip says, "May the LORD add to my tribe." Skip’s life verse is Micah 6:8. Skip will endeavor to live up to this as he serves
as your representative on the ORU Alumni Board of Directors. Ken Osiwala graduated from Oral Roberts University in 1987 alongside his wife, Beth,
beginning a lasting family legacy at ORU. Their three daughters have also followed
in their footsteps as proud alumni, and Ken now looks forward to the possibility of
his sweet granddaughter one day becoming a Golden Eagle herself. After graduating from ORU, Ken began his career at Ernst & Young before going on to
found a successful financial advisory firm. Now serving on the ORU Alumni Board of
Directors, Ken is honored to give back to the university that has shaped his family’s
journey. He is committed to being an active and engaged part of the board—helping
