Semester Checklist
Complete these items before your first day of class.
Make sure you’ve completed your registration steps at vision.oru.edu by the deadline.
All ORU students who attend courses on campus will need an Eagle Card (ORU ID Card).
You can obtain this card by visiting the Eagle Card Center, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (closed from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
for lunch). The Eagle Card Center is located on the 3rd floor of the LRC, across from
Concierge, and can be reached at 918-495-7256. If you still have one from past semesters,
you won’t need a new one. Be sure to bring a government-issued ID with you.
Parking permits can be purchased at Security or ordered online for $50. Security is located in the same building as Hamill Dining and across from Lower Lot (Lot G). They are open 24/7.
To obtain your parking permit, ensure you have completed registration and have the following information ready: your Eagle Card, Z-number, vehicle make and model, and license plate number.
Note: Even if you have a permit from last year, you will still need to purchase a new one for this academic year.
WONDERING WHERE TO PARK ON A SCHOOL DAY?
You are a commuter, so park in Lot A, which is right by the Mabee Center. Walk across the walking bridge over Fred Creek and head to the GC/LRC.
Attend your first day of class and note the textbook required by your teacher. Then, head to the ORU bookstore on the 3rd floor of the GC/LRC and find the textbook by title. When making your purchase, be sure to inform them that you are a "part-time student" and not part of the Follett Access group. You paid for tuition only and must purchase each of your textbooks separately, even if they are digital.
Many of you may find your digital texts online (through Follett Access or Brightwave, etc.) and notice that you have free access to them. Unfortunately, this free access will be removed on or before the drop/add date for students taking courses on campus.
Click here for instructions on how to purchase digital textbooks if your professor requires them.
You can find details about ORU’s dress code in the Student Handbook here or in the ORU app!
Please note: No shorts are permitted in the GC/LRC.
Navigate to your schedule in your VISION account.
- Click "Registration Quick Links"
- Select "Student Schedule"
Your classes will be listed in a format like "GC 5116," where the letters represent the building and the numbers represent the floor and room number. Click here to view a campus map.
Please Note: Classrooms sometimes change at the last minute. Be sure to check your schedule in VISION prior to the first day of class.
We highly recommend arriving early on your first day of class to ensure you have plenty of time to find your classroom.
Undergraduate students attend Chapel every Wednesday and Friday at 11 AM in Christ’s Chapel. While it is not mandatory for concurrent students, you are more than welcome to attend! There is reserved seating on the balcony level and in the back row of Section A on the floor level for all commuter, concurrent, and graduate students.
