ABOUT THE QUEST WHOLE LEADER SCHOLARSHIP

The undergraduate Quest Whole Leader Scholarship Program has been established to identify and award students who are tireless on their quest to become whole leaders. Scholarship recipients are committed to developing a healthy, character-driven lifestyle that sets the standard in society and enables them to thrive in life. 

HOW TO BE CONSIDERED

In order to qualify, you must be a high school senior, recent high school graduate or transfer student considering ORU as a residential full-time student for the upcoming semester. Eligible students are automatically awarded a Quest Whole Leader Scholarship upon admission, but are also granted the opportunity to be considered for 1 of our 15 full-tuition Quest Scholarships by completing each:

SELECTION DATES

Once you have successfully fulfilled all requirements above, you will be considered for the next selection round. The selection rounds and their respective timelines are as follows:

  • December 1 for Spring 2024 entries only
  • Round 1: January 15 (to be announced by March 15)
  • Round 2: February 15 (to be announced by March 15) 
  • Round 3: March 15 (to be announced by April 1)
  • Round 4: April 15 (to be announced by May 1)

HOW TO APPLY TO ORAL ROBERTS UNIVERSITY

NEXT STEPS

Once you've received your admissions decision to Oral Roberts University, follow these steps. 

1. Secure Your Spot

Secure your spot at ORU by heading to go.oru.edu/pay to submit your $250 enrollment fee. This payment also solidifies your scholarship and financial aid offers, allows you to choose housing, and more!

2. Compete for a Full-Tuition Scholarship

Eligible students* are automatically awarded a Quest Whole Leader Scholarship upon admission, but they are also granted the opportunity to be considered for 1 of our 15 full-tuition Quest Scholarships by securing a nomination, visiting campus, and submitting a Quest Essay. 

After your student is nominated, eligible students* will receive an email with a direct link to complete their Quest Essay. Be sure they check their spam folder so it doesn't get lost!

3. Visit Campus

Join us for one of our exciting event days; Quest! We offer one-day and two-day visits so your student can compete for a full tuition scholarship, attend Chapel, take a campus tour, connect with students, learn about academic programs, and experience what sets ORU apart. We also have exclusive sessions just for parents where you'll learn how to make ORU fit within your budget and leave with assurance that your child will be safe and supported.

4. File The FAFSA

We are dedicated to making the ORU Experience affordable for everyone, and that's why we encourage you to file your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Millions of dollars each year are left unclaimed by students who didn't file a FAFSA, and we don't want you and your student to miss out on this money-saving opportunity.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

In order to qualify, you must be a high school senior, recent high school graduate or transfer student considering ORU for the upcoming semester. Upon admission, students are automatically awarded a Quest Whole Leader Scholarship. The next step would be to secure a nomination. Once a nomination is received, eligible students* will receive an email with a direct link to complete their Quest Essay. Be sure to check your spam folder so it doesn't get lost!

You will be responding to a series of short essay questions through a secure online platform. Scholarship recipients will demonstrate the following: Spiritual Integrity, Personal Resilience, Intellectual Pursuit, Global Engagement, and Bold Vision. Your essay questions will be tailored to these topics. Please answer all the questions thoroughly and with proper grammar and sentence structure as if you were turning in a school paper. We are looking forward to getting to know you better through your essay!

Yes, you can! We highly encourage you to get nominated by a non-family member, such as a school official, church official, community leader, or a member of the ORU alumni, faculty, or staff.

Your interview will take place during the Quest event and you will receive details about your interview time upon your arrival for Quest.

We have a limited amount of interview slots available so don't wait to register and complete all of your requirements!

You will find a list of selection dates and deadlines for scholarship consideration above. Please note: Students not selected for a full-tuition scholarship will retain the award offered upon admission. Filing the FAFSA also helps us to understand what other institutional awards, grants, and scholarships you may be eligible for.

Scholarship decisions are considered by a committee of select individuals where all elements are weighted: essay, interview, and nomination(s).


GUIDELINES AND RENEWAL CRITERIA

This scholarship is valid for up to four years of full-time enrollment in an undergraduate, residential program at Oral Roberts University. *Students who receive athletic aid at ORU due to participation in NCAA Division 1 Athletics are not eligible for Quest Whole Leader Scholarships. 

**Students not selected for a full-tuition scholarship will retain the award offered upon admission.

***Participation is limited to those who have not yet received a Quest Whole Leader Scholarship and are not returning ORU students.
