How fast is ORU's internet connection?
Really fast!  We have a 4 Gbps internet connection.

How do I connect using my mobile device/laptop?
If you are a student, you can connect to the wireless using ORU-Student.  If you need additional help, please email studenthelpdesk@oru.edu or call 918-495-6321.
If you are faculty and/or staff, you can connect using ORU-Employee using your Novel username and password.  If you need additional help, please email helpdesk@oru.edu or call 918-495-6315.

Where can I access the wireless network?
We have wireless access points in all the buildings on campus.  You can access the wireless inside any of our buildings.

I'm visiting the university. Will I still be able to access the network?
Yes! You can connect to ORU-Student and access the internet.

How do I connect to the employee wireless?

I received an email from IT saying they needed my password for some reason.  Should I give it to them?
No.  You should never give out your password to anyone.  ORU IT will not ask users for their passwords.

How do I share my Outlook Calendar with someone else?

Can I view someone else's calendar through Outlook?
Absolutely!  You can view how to do this here.


How do I log in to my account?
To log in to your ePortfolio account, visit https://eportfolio.oru.edu.  Once you are there, click the "Log-in" button in the left-hand column.  ePortfolio is handled by the Education Department.

What is my User ID/password?
Your User ID is your ORU email without the "@oru.edu", while your password is the same password you use to log in to your Novell account, access your virtual machines, and sign into your ORU mail account.

What are the differences between D2L, Vision and ePortfolio?
D2L is for daily assignments and retrieving content from each class. Vision is for transcripts, financial aid, add/drop classes, etc. ePortfolio is for submitting artifacts to classes, such as final papers.


How do I log in to my account?
The login page for D2L is located at https://d2l.oru.edu.

What is my username/password?
Your username is your ORU network ID, and your password is your ORU network password (the same one you use to log in to your ORU email account).

What if I forgot my username/password?
If you've forgotten your password, call the IT helpdesk at 918-495-6315.

What is the difference between D2L and Vision?
D2L is where you go to view grades, upload your homework, and interact with your professor and classmates outside of the classroom.  Vision is the system that takes care of items such as paying tuition, changing your address, or registering for classes.

My console will not connect to the wireless network!  What should I do?
If you have a gaming console and you find that certain games do not work, please send an email (using your ORU mail account) that includes your name, room number, and the MAC Address of your console to networkteam@oru.edu.


I don't have an account with Zoom, or I want to get started using Zoom.  What should I do?
