Oral Roberts University’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology is an exciting track that integrates the study of biological sciences and faith to provide a comprehensive, diverse, and modern educational experience. In this degree major, you will learn about biological systems and come to provide solutions to challenges facing us in everyday life.
As a Biology major at ORU, you will have the opportunity to have a concentration in Pre-Medical or Health Professions.
We know that admission to medical, dental and other health professional schools in the United States is very competitive and selective. At ORU we want to make sure that you get appropriate training and exceptional education to position you to gain entry into the advanced health professional school of your choice. We offer many pre-professional programs in health services including, pre-medical, pre-dentistry, pre-optometry, pre-veterinary, pre-pharmacy, pre-physical therapy and pre-sports medicine. ORU students have been accepted into 70 different medical schools including Duke University, Johns Hopkins University and Washington University. Also, over 300 ORU alumni are practicing physicians across the United States.

What makes ORU’s Biology program stand out?
In ORU's Biology program you will spend time in a state-of-the-art Biotechnology Lab that includes a real-time PCR machines, cell culture and bacterial hoods, ELISA plate reader and other outstanding instruments. Also, you will receive Biotechnology training including cloning and sequencing and familiarity with plasmid DNA, transformation, enzymatic DNA digestion and PCR.

- Tri-Beta National Biological Honors Society, Mu Kappa Chapter
 Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. The Mu Kappa Chapter at ORU holds monthly meetings, participates in community service projects and attends the regional convention annually with students presenting seniors research projects.
- Shadow Local Health Professionals
 Numerous shadowing opportunities are available to engage with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, occupational therapists, physical therapists and more.

FUNDED BY THE NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION ROBERT NOYCE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The National Science Foundation’s Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program supports talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) majors who want to become K-12 mathematics and science teachers.
The $1.14 million grant was awarded to Oral Roberts University to provide internships, scholarships and other educational experiences to students who commit to teach secondary level math or science in a high-need school district.
