Job Description
- Full Time

Provides support to all patrons entering the Armand Hammer Alumni Student Center (AHASC). To represent the Concierge office in the Hammer building and at other Concierge functions and locations as needed.



Make sure the Hammer/Concierge Desk is manned at all times. 

Greet all persons entering the building and track usage numbers. Send reports as needed. Manage all aspects of front desk communications. Answer phone calls and patron's questions. Check out game items and inventory supplies and sanitize upon return. Handle deliveries and other front desk duties as they arise. Offer best customer service to students, parents, and other patrons at all times. Excellent work attitude and demeanor are required. Occasionally work other Concierge desks or events as needed.


Assist with opening the AHASC as needed. Monitor student workers as needed and ensure they maintain Hammer and Concierge procedures and protocol. Ensure they complete required duties while on shift. Help solve problems between students and other patrons. Monitor building use and report any problems to the Building Manager and Executive Director.


Dispatch correct information regarding events, building, and facilities. Create and place signage as needed. Check in with the Executive Director and Building Manager for specific work assignments. Coordinate collection and logging of lost & found items for storage. Return property if claimed. Refund lost money from vending machine, keep proper receipts and send reports as needed. Ensure that all forms are available on a daily basis. Learn AHASC and Concierge software and systems to better assist students, faculty and staff. Other various duties as assigned by the Executive Director.



Requires a High School diploma or GED.


  • No experience required. 
  • Previous clerical experience of various duties helpful. 
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and multitasking skills. 
  • Must be personable and able to meet and greet customers with a cheerful attitude. Must be flexible and willing to adapt to changes and responsibilities as they arise.
  • Must be knowledgeable of information needed to accurately answer questions about the facility and be detailed oriented. 
  • Ability to make decisions and act effectively in stressful situations required. 
  • Must have basic computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel helpful and to be willing to learn other programs as necessary.

Hours for this position will be determined by the needs of the Concierge/AHASC departments and the building hours.  During the school year, AHASC is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to midnight with a few exceptions. This position would cover primarily the day hours. Overtime hours may be required during peak times.
