What Is ORU Course+ and How Does It Work?
ORU Course+ is a streamlined and affordable course material delivery program designed to simplify your academic experience. For just $365 per semester for traditional undergraduate students (or $25 per credit hour for online and graduate students), you’ll receive all your required textbooks, eTextbooks, lab manuals, and access codes in time for the first day of class.
Once you register for your courses and complete enrollment, your materials are automatically bundled and prepared for you. Physical books are packaged for either in-store pickup or shipping, based on your selected preference. Digital materials are delivered directly through D2L Brightspace, and you'll receive step-by-step instructions via your ORU email to access them.
Course+ removes the guesswork from textbook shopping by ensuring you have exactly what you need—correct editions, access codes, and all required materials—without the hassle of comparing prices or worrying about last-minute purchases. It’s a smart, convenient way to be prepared and positioned for academic success from day one.
How Do I Get My Course Materials?
About one month before classes begin, you’ll receive an email inviting you to select how you’d like to receive your course materials—either by picking them up in-store or having them shipped directly to you.
- If you choose in-store pickup, your materials will be ready at the ORU Bookstore, located on the 3rd floor of the Learning Resources Center. You’ll receive a follow-up email confirming when your materials are ready. Be sure to bring your student ID when you arrive to pick them up.
- If you opted to have your books shipped, watch your email for tracking information.
Students must be enrolled full-time and complete registration before course materials can be processed. Once your enrollment is confirmed, your course list is sent to the ORU Bookstore, where staff will begin preparing your textbooks and course access materials.
What Are the Benefits of Course+?
Course+ provides a streamlined process for accessing all of your required materials without needing to search for deals or second-guess which books to buy. Because materials are delivered through D2L and prepared by the bookstore staff, you’ll spend less time figuring out logistics and more time focusing on your studies. Whether digital or physical, you can trust that your materials are the correct titles and editions, matched to your specific classes.
What If I Add or Drop a Class?
If you add a course after your original materials have been processed, the bookstore will prepare any additional required materials for you. Once those are ready, you’ll receive another email letting you know when and where to pick them up.
If you drop a class, especially one that included a physical rental, please return the book to the ORU Bookstore right away—do not wait until the end of the semester. To avoid non-return fees, physical rentals must be returned in their original condition. If you need to return materials by mail, you can ship them to:
University Store at ORU
7777 S. Lewis Ave
Tulsa, OK 74171
End of Semester Textbook Return
All rental textbooks must be returned to the ORU Bookstore by the last day of final exams. You’ll receive email reminders as the due date approaches. If you would like to keep any of your textbooks, you have the option to purchase them at a discounted rate during the semester. If a book is lost, damaged, or not returned, a fine will be assessed and a hold may be placed on your student account.
Even if you’re enrolled in a continuation course, your textbook must still be returned at the end of the term. You will be issued the same title again for the next semester.
Can I Opt-Out of the Program?
Yes. All eligible students are automatically enrolled in Course+, but you do have the option to opt out each semester. If you choose to opt out, you will be responsible for purchasing all required course materials on your own, and access to any digital content included in Course+ will be removed once the opt-out window closes.
The opt-out window for Fall 2025 runs from July 22 to September 4. For students enrolled in courses starting in October or later, a second opt-out window will be available from September 22 to October 27. You can begin the process by visiting the opt-out page.
To change your mind and opt back in, follow the instructions provided in your confirmation email or revisit the opt-out page before the opt-out deadline for your term.
