Program Overview

Oral Roberts University’s Baccalaureate of Social Work program (BSW) is a residential program that can equip you to become a professional in social work. Your course of study provides training in the social work practice, foundations of research, human behavior in the social environment and field practicum.

More than this, our unique mission to develop Holy Spirit-empowered leaders through Whole Person Education, can truly set you apart to impact the human science and behavioral world. At ORU, the curriculum includes a 50-hour core of academic courses and practicum experiences arranged sequentially to provide for maximum preparation for the field of generalist social work practice. 

Following our commitment to equip Spirit-empowered leaders, our social work degree at ORU builds upon the liberal arts foundation of the university along with the Christian view of the world, society and the nature of man.

Are there scholarships available?
