Concentrations

Linguistics

This concentration blends math, language, and technology to explore the structure and meaning of human language. You’ll study topics like syntax, semantics, AI, and machine learning—preparing for careers in areas such as natural language processing, lexicography, ESL teaching, and forensic linguistics.

Pre-Health

This concentration prepares you for careers at the intersection of math, science, and healthcare. With a foundation in biology, chemistry, programming, and advanced mathematics, you’ll be equipped for medical research, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and more.

Pre-Medicine

This concentration combines rigorous mathematical training with essential pre-med coursework to prepare you for medical school and healthcare careers. With classes in biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and advanced math, you’ll be equipped for roles in medical research, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and beyond.

Data Science

This concentration equips you with the skills to collect, analyze, and interpret data for real-world impact. With coursework in AI, big data, and computing, you’ll be prepared for careers as a data scientist, analyst, engineer, or AI specialist.

Program Features

Students in the College of Science and Engineering gain hands-on experience through internships at leading companies and organizations. Past students have interned in industries such as oil and natural gas, aerospace and automotive, healthcare systems both in the U.S. and internationally, and with federal agencies—applying their classroom knowledge to real-world challenges. These opportunities provide valuable exposure and often lead to full-time career placements after graduation.
