Program Features

Psychology students at ORU gain real-world experience through internships in clinical, educational, and community-based settings. Students have interned with counseling centers, mental health clinics, schools, nonprofit organizations, and ministry programs—applying psychological principles in service-focused environments. These experiences build practical skills and prepare students for careers or graduate studies in counseling, research, education, and mental health.

The Psychology degree is offered in two formats—Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.). Both provide the same strong foundation in psychology theory and practice, but the difference lies in the supporting coursework. The B.A. track includes a foreign language requirement, while the B.S. track emphasizes additional lab science. This flexibility allows you to choose the path that best matches your strengths, career goals, and academic interests.

ORU meets the accreditation standards set by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
