Program Features

Yes. Admission to the music program requires an audition with the music department. You must first apply and be admitted to the university prior to auditioning. After admission, you’ll receive instructions via email on how to submit your audition materials. For audition details and to submit your materials, please visit the audition form below. Students in the music performance program gain valuable real-world experience through internships that complement their musical and professional goals. Internship placements include churches, worship ministries, music production studios, recording labels, event management companies, and arts organizations. These hands-on experiences help students refine their performance, leadership, and collaboration skills, often opening doors to full-time roles or advanced opportunities after graduation.

ORU meets the accreditation standards set by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The ORU Music Department is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). ORU is also an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved university. As an All-Steinway School since 2011, ORU offers students access to world-class instruments that elevate the learning and performance experience.
