As ORU’s first Ph.D. offering, it represents the highest level of academic achievement and provides students with opportunities to engage in original research that contributes to global scholarship. The program’s modular format allows students to remain active in their teaching and ministry contexts, integrating real-world experience with academic study.

The Ph.D. in Contextual Theology is accredited through Oral Roberts University’s Graduate School of Theology and Ministry, which is fully accredited by the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS). Additionally, Oral Roberts University holds memberships with the Association of American Colleges and Universities, the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
