Sports Operations and Analytics

This concentration prepares you to manage the day-to-day operations of sports organizations with an emphasis on data analysis. Students learn facility management, event planning, and how to apply analytics to improve team and business performance.

Sports Sales and Marketing

This concentration focuses on revenue generation and brand promotion in the sports industry. Students gain expertise in ticket sales, sponsorships, fan engagement, and digital marketing strategies tailored to sports audiences.

Sports Broadcast and Media Relations

This concentration equips students with the communication skills needed for sports media roles. Coursework includes sports journalism, broadcasting, public relations, and content creation to effectively cover teams and manage media relationships.

Program Features

ORU’s Aerobics Center offers top-notch facilities—including classrooms, an indoor pool, basketball courts, a running track, and modern exercise equipment—creating an engaging space for fitness and recreation.

Sport management students have unique hands-on learning opportunities with both professional sports organizations and NCAA Division I athletic departments:

  • Professional Sports Organizations: OKC Blue (NBAD), OKC Thunder (NBA), Tulsa Oilers (CHL), Tulsa Drillers (AA-MLB), Tulsa Roughnecks (Minor League Soccer), PGA, and LPGA.
  • NCAA Division I Athletic Departments: Oral Roberts University (Summit League Conference), the University of Oklahoma (Big XII), Oklahoma State University (Big XII), and the University of Tulsa (American Athletic Conference).
  • We also work with NASCAR, AAU Jr. Olympics, FCA, NFL and the retired NFL Players Association.

ORU meets the accreditation standards set by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
