Bachelor's Degree inTheatre
Why Study Theatre at ORU?
ORU’s Theatre program is offered as either a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree. Both are vibrant, hands-on programs designed to develop students for artistic and professional success. The B.A. provides a strong foundation in theatre performance and production, while the B.F.A. allows students to specialize through concentrations in Performance, Production and Design, or Classroom and Community. Students gain practical experience through fully staged productions and close mentorship from faculty who are active professionals in the field. Our graduates leave with the confidence, adaptability, and creativity to thrive wherever their path leads.

Faith-based actors should be taking the entertainment industry by storm, because that’s where seeds get planted.

This concentration equips students with advanced training in acting, movement, and
voice to prepare for careers in stage, film, and television. Students refine their
craft through scene work, performance labs, and main stage productions. This concentration develops students’ technical and artistic skills in scenic, lighting,
costume, and sound design. Through hands-on experience in live productions, students
learn how to bring stories to life from behind the scenes and prepare for careers
in entertainment. This concentration prepares students to use theatre as a tool for education, ministry,
and social engagement. By combining performance, directing, and teaching methods,
students gain the skills to lead drama programs, design community theatre projects,
or pursue graduate study in theatre education or drama therapy.Concentrations (B.F.A. Only)
