REFUNDS AT ORU
Everything you need to know about how and when refunds are processed.
Refunds are issued when financial aid and other payments create a credit on your student account. It’s important to know when refunds are released, how they are delivered, and how to set up direct deposit to avoid delays. Staying informed helps you plan ahead and make the most of your financial aid.
Refunds are processed after the Drop/Add deadline each semester, but only when:
- All accepted financial aid has been received and applied
- There is a true credit balance on your account
- Any loan-specific rules (e.g., Integrity Loan adjustments) have been applied
Refunds are applied in this order:
- Back to your credit card, up to the amount paid
- To the Parent PLUS Loan borrower, by check or direct deposit
- To the student, by direct deposit (if set up)
Note:
- Payments made by international wire transfer cannot be refunded.
- Integrity Loan borrowers do not receive refunds — any excess funds are applied to reduce the loan balance.

Note: Both the student and parent must complete these steps for Parent PLUS refunds to be delivered by direct deposit.
If your account has a credit balance and you want to return some of your loan funds, please email Financial Aid and Student Accounts and include the exact amount you want to return.
If you’ve already received a refund check, please bring the check to Student Accounts.
Your eligibility for a tuition refund, and the amount you receive, depends on when you withdraw from classes.
Visit the current Academic Calendar for dates and refund details.
- Log in to Vision
- Click Registration Quick Links → Registration Worksheet
- If you see a negative balance, this indicates a potential refund
Note:
- Refunds are not issued until all financial aid is posted
- Integrity Loan borrowers will see credits applied to their loan, not refunded directly
