ORU Announces 2023 Commencement Speaker Governor Kevin Stitt
TULSA, OK.— Oral Roberts University (ORU) announces that Governor Kevin Stitt will
be the keynote speaker for the University’s 2023 Commencement ceremony. This year's
Commencement will be held at the Mabee Center on Saturday, May 6th, and will begin
at 1:00 pm, with doors opening at 11:30 am (CDT).
“We are honored to have Governor Stitt at ORU’s 56th Commencement,” said ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson. “Governor Stitt is a consistent voice for faith-based values and is resolute in supporting education. Governor Stitt is an excellent example of a Christian leader, and ORU is privileged that he will address this year’s graduates.”
Governor Stitt is a fourth-generation Oklahoman and the founder of Gateway, a nationwide mortgage company that is one of Oklahoma’s ten largest banks by assets. Under his leadership, Oklahoma is on pace to become a national leader in job growth, infrastructure, and education. Governor Stitt serves to make Oklahoma strong through a growing economy, an education system focused on student success and an accountable government. He and his wife, Sarah, have been married for nearly 25 years and have six children: Natalie, Drew, Katie, Piper, Remington, Houston, and one new son-in-law, Joseph.
Commencement will be broadcast live across ORU’s international television network GEB, Direct TV (channel 363), and locally on KGEB-TV 53/Cox HD and all affiliates.
