Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University’s worship team ORU LIVE will record their new
album in front of a live audience on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 7pm at Christ’s Chapel.
“ORU has a rich history of recording albums with original songs written by students,” said Kimmie Simon, Director of ORU Worship Center. “We are excited to perform these powerful worship songs and lead people into a lifestyle of adoration and worship of the Father.”
ORU Worship last recorded an album in 2012, which was performed during what is now known as Quest Leadership Weekend, an occasion when prospective students visit the ORU campus to get a taste of student life. This latest album will also be recorded during such a weekend so that students interested in ORU can experience the vibrant campus worship.
Among the talented members of ORU LIVE is Kailey Abel from Verdigris, Oklahoma, who recently auditioned for “The Voice” on NBC. Abel had previously auditioned for “The Voice” and also made the Top 100 in American Idol’s final season on Fox.
The first singles from ORU LIVE’s new album will be released in April on all digital platforms, with the full album available by May.
