ORU reaches out to former Bethany University students

Bethany University (Scotts Valley, CA) officials announced on June 13, 2011, that the school would cease teaching operations for the 2011-12 school year. Oral Roberts University is saddened to hear about this news and seeks to help Bethany University students by offering an opportunity to transfer to ORU.

ORU admissions counselor Valerie Castillo will be in the Scotts Valley area Sunday, June 26 to Wednesday, June 30, 2011, to meet with students who are seeking options. Ricky Hinman, who transferred to ORU from Bethany University in 2010 and Michael Reyes, another ORU student, will also be available to help. For those Bethany University students wishing to transfer to a full-time on-campus undergraduate or graduate degree program at ORU this fall, ORU will match Bethany students' scholarship awards and, in addition, will offer a free room waiver for 2011-2012 (valued at $4,192). Further, if the students qualify for more scholarship assistance at ORU than they would have at Bethany, they will receive that aid plus the free room waiver.
