Dr. Kathy Hoppe has a wealth of academic and clinical experience that she brings to Oral Roberts University where she teaches psychology courses. As a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist, she has worked in various settings, including medical environments and group practices. In 2022, Dr. Hoppe was honored as an Oklahoma Health Care Hero for her contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prior to ORU, she developed the graduate program in community counseling at Rogers State University. Known for her engaging teaching style, Dr. Hoppe fosters an inclusive classroom environment and is dedicated to her students' success, integrating faith into their career narratives.

Her research interests encompass burnout and trauma, leading to several published works, including an introductory textbook co-authored with Dr. Michelle Taylor titled "Trauma and Crisis Counseling: An Overview for Emerging Professionals." 

Dr. Hoppe holds degrees from the University of North Texas, Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, ORU, and Liberty University, along with postgraduate training in marriage and family therapy. She is a minister and active in her church, and provides pro bono counseling, contributing to community well-being while serving as a contributing editor for the Christian Association for Psychological Services' newsletter.
