Dr. Connie Sjoberg has served Oral Roberts University for more than twenty-seven years in a broad range of academic and student-life leadership roles. She began her career in Student Life, where for thirteen years she contributed to the quality and formation of the student experience through positions including Residence Hall Director, Assistant Dean of Women, Dean of Women, and Director of the Ignite Leadership Program.
Following her work in Student Life, Dr. Sjoberg transitioned to the academic sector as an Associate Professor of Behavioral Sciences, in which she has taught for eleven years. She has additionally held significant administrative appointments at the University, serving for eleven years as Dean of Institutional Effectiveness and as University Registrar.
Dr. Sjoberg currently serves as a Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, contributing to institutional accreditation through evaluation, assurance, and quality-improvement processes. She has also worked as the Grant Evaluation Coordinator for the Anna Vaughn School of Nursing at Oral Roberts University, overseeing evaluation and assessment components for a $1.2 million HRSA federal grant.
Her professional contributions extend internationally. Dr. Sjoberg has delivered training workshops and consultation for Kang Chiao International School East Campus in Kunshan City, Jiangsu, China, focusing on the legal foundations and best practices of child protection, as well as advising on the pursuit of Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) International accreditation. She has organized and led workshops on assessment and assessment literacy, accreditation readiness, and student leadership development. In addition, she has presented at regional and national conferences on topics related to institutional research and student development.
Dr. Sjoberg earned her B.A. in Music Education from Oral Roberts University and both her M.S. in Counseling and Student Personnel and her Ph.D. in Applied Behavioral Studies from Oklahoma State University. She received the Graduate Research Excellence Award for her dissertation, The Relationship of Environmental Predictors and Institutional Characteristics to Student Persistence.
