Mary Bohan is full-time faculty in the College of Health Sciences, Anna Vaughn School of Nursing. Prior to joining ORU full time, she worked as an adjunct faculty for the nursing department, bringing the unique perspective of a Certified Nurse Midwife to courses such as “Patterns of Childbearing”, “Community Health Nursing” and “Community Leadership”.
Prior to joining ORU, Mary Bohan began her career as an RN at St Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. After several years there, she transferred to Hillcrest to work in their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. While there, she followed the Lord’s leading and began her graduate education. After graduation as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Specializing as a Certified Nurse Midwife, she joined the practice at Special Delivery Midwifery Care. Here she provided women’s health care, prenatal care, and was honored to deliver many babies both in homes as well as at the birth center. She also spent some time working at OU physicians Group as a provider in prenatal, postpartum and women’s healthcare. Mary continues to provide back-up care as needed for the birth center where she began her career as a Nurse Midwife.
