Dr. Bohatec is the Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program in the College of Health Sciences, Anna Vaughn School of Nursing. Dr. Bohatec is a proud alum of the college, class of 1998, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Upon graduation from ORU, she worked as an adult critical care nurse for a number of years, both in ICU and PACU as well as oncology. She is from Hopewell, VA so her Southern roots go deep.

Brenna holds a DNP from Maryville University, a Masters in Nursing from Old Dominion University with concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from ORU. Her clinical interests include family medicine, wholistic care, preventive medicine and end of life care. Her academic interests include preparing new generations of family nurse practitioners, nursing research and translational science.

Brenna is the Secretary and Board Member of the Oklahoma Indigenous Nurses Association. She is the only non-Native Board member and loves working with the indigenous culture to achieve better health. Brenna has been privileged to work on various state and national committees regarding indigenous health, including developing a nationwide faculty toolkit for AARP.
