Dr. Libby Adjei comes to Oral Roberts University with extensive experience as a professor with a strong background in K-12 education. Dr. Adjei holds an Associate’s Degree from Kingsborough Community College and a Bachelor’s from City College of New York (CCNY). After completing CCNY, Dr. Adjei earned a master’s degree from Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. Dr. Adjei earned a doctorate from Oral Roberts University in Education Leadership with a concentration in Public School Administration. She taught in elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as in public and private schools. Her Oklahoma certifications include school administration for grades 5-12 and world history, U.S. history, government, psychology, sociology, and economics.

Dr. Adjei has taught liberal arts courses at Tulsa Community College and education courses at Oral Roberts University. In addition to teaching, Dr. Adjei presented at the Oklahoma Association of Colleges for Teacher Education on Reimagining Field Experience through Literacy Partnerships. Dr. Adjei submitted a proposal accepted by the National Council of Teachers of English on First Gen/Gen Z in a literacy project and has published an article, First Gen/Gen Z: Reimagining Secondary Education Supports through Literacy Partnerships, in Opportunity Matters Journal. 

Dr. Adjei has extensive experience overseeing federal grant-funded programs serving the K-12 population. In addition, she led in managing federally funded programs, including TRIO: Upward Bound and Gear Up. Most recently, she helped secure a grant for over 2.2 million dollars from the U.S. Department of Education that will help serve and empower at-risk students at ORU. The overall goals of the grant are to improve the six-year graduation rate, increase minority and Pell-eligible six-year graduation rates, and expand the academic support for at-risk students.
