Laura Krohn came to Oral Roberts University with more than two decades of academic experience teaching Secondary English and Language. Krohn has worked in the field of Education since her graduation from ORU in 1984. After working as an English teacher in both public and private schools, she worked as an adjunct instructor at both ORU and Tulsa Community College. Following this, she spent seven years teaching twelfth grade English at Charles Page High School before coming to ORU as a full-time English Instructor, English Education Advisor and University Supervisor for ELA student interns.

In the past seven years at ORU, Mrs. Krohn has rebuilt the English Education program while successfully writing the State of Oklahoma Program Report for the Preparation of English Teachers, which recently was Nationally Recognized. She has also served on the state’s Higher-Ed/Career Tech Advisory Committee in OKC and participated on several Oklahoma Core Curriculum Test standards-setting and review committees. Krohn also has presented papers at numerous regional education conferences which are now in the publication process.


In the classroom, Mrs. Krohn is recognized for her strong faith and passion for teaching literature and composition. As an ORU graduate and long-time educator, Krohn’s goal has always been to bring Christ’s light to students from all backgrounds and educational settings while teaching them to think critically and with discernment, clearly articulating their ideas in a manner that will impact their world positively in His name, no matter which side of the desk they sit behind.


Laura Krohn received her B.A in English Education from Oral Roberts University, her MA in English from Northeastern State University (OK), and is currently working on her dissertation for a Ph.D. in Education from Oklahoma State University. She maintains a valid Teaching Certificate in English Education from the State of Oklahoma.
