Dr. Greg Okaiwele comes to Oral Roberts University with extensive experience and knowledge of leadership development, human resources management, health services administration, and higher education. He has served on senior leadership teams and held various progressive roles, such as manager, director, and vice president at some of the largest, comprehensive, faith-based, non-profit, and publicly traded health systems in the United States, including Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, SSM Health, and HCA Healthcare.
Dr. Okaiwele is an Associate Professor of Leadership Development at ORU and teaches courses related to leadership development, communication, and organizational development at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including the Doctor of Strategic Leadership program. He is passionate about advancing ORU’s mission, which involves developing whole leaders through whole-person education to impact the whole world. Previously, he taught leadership, management, and human resources courses at universities in Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Dr. Okaiwele has designed and facilitated leadership development courses, implemented mentoring programs, and led diverse teams collaborating with stakeholders and colleagues at complex organizations. He is a lifelong learner and understands how to integrate academic rigor with practical application to the needs and well-being of professionals and students in a compassionate manner.
Dr. Okaiwele earned a B.S. in Professional Management from Nova Southeastern University, M.S. in Bioethics from Columbia University, MDiv. in Theology from Virginia Union University, M.S. in Health Sciences - Health Services Administration Track from University of Central Florida, M.A. in Human Resources Development from Webster University, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.
He also earned the Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) Certificate, Certificate in Leadership Coaching from the John Maxwell Team, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Leadership from Regent University, and a Faith-Based Nonprofit Leadership Certificate from Wake Forest University School of Divinity.
