Professor Evan E. Hewitt is an accomplished media educator, filmmaker, and creative professional with over a decade of experience shaping the next generation of storytellers. He currently serves as Associate Professor of Cinema Media Arts at Oral Roberts University, where he develops and delivers innovative courses in film, digital media, and storytelling while mentoring students on academic and professional projects. Previously, he taught at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where he launched new degree programs in Digital Cinema and Digital Media Marketing, doubled enrollment in Communications, and established a vibrant theatre program. His earlier teaching role at Full Sail University further solidified his expertise in curriculum design and student mentorship within film production and creative writing.

Alongside his academic career, Evan is the founder and co-owner of Bit Brilliant, a full-service media production and digital marketing agency. His professional portfolio spans film, theatre, and digital media, including producing and directing stage productions such as Little Women and The Play that Goes Wrong as well as short films like Desolate and Paddle Out, the latter earning recognition as Best Graduate Screenplay at SCAD. His creative work has been honored with Telly Awards, festival selections, and institutional recognition, including the OKWU Promising Teacher Award. In addition to his creative achievements, Evan brings valuable organizational experience from his service in the U.S. Army, where he managed multimillion-dollar budgets and logistics in both Germany and during Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia.

Dedicated to advancing media education and the creative arts, Evan maintains active memberships in professional organizations such as the Oklahoma Motion Picture Alliance, University Film and Video Association, and the American Association of Community Theatre. He continues to engage in professional development through industry conferences and juror roles. With an MFA in Film and Television from the Savannah College of Art & Design and a BA in Psychology from Asbury University, Evan combines technical expertise, artistic vision, and a passion for teaching to inspire students and audiences alike.
