Oral Roberts University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Theatre: Musical Theatre is a highly structured, pre-professional approach to theatre studies that will equip you to become a Holy Spirit-empowered artistic professional. If you can successfully sing, dance and act in theatre, then this is the place to develop your “triple threat” talents!

You will spend much of your time studying with the ORU Music and Dance programs to gain practical theatre experience and help realize your professional artistic goals.

You will finish your degree with a strong foundation on which to build production experiences in professional and semi-professional musical theatre, opera and dance ensembles. What makes ORU’s Theatre program stand out?
The ORU Theatre program produces four main stage performances and one studio production per academic year. ORU Theatre works closely with The Playhouse Tulsa, a professional regional theatre company, to produce theatrical opportunities for you at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center and other local venues. As a theatre major, you’ll have access to Alpha Psi Omega, a national, honorary and dramatic society, to help stimulate interest in theatrical activities both on and off the ORU campus.
On top of this, you’ll learn directly from faith-grounded theatre professionals who know what it takes to succeed in this creative industry. Our current students and alumni have worked on Broadway, film, television and in major theaters across the country and with dedication, passion and hard work, you can too!

Are there scholarships available?
Nearly 100% of our full-time, undergraduate residential students receive ORU grants and scholarships through academic achievement and through ORU’s premier scholarship opportunity of our Quest Whole Leader Scholarship.
