Theatre: Theatre for Healing

Program Overview

Oral Roberts University’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree in Theatre for Healing is the only program of its kind. If you love theatre and want to use it to help others and impact the world, this program is an avenue through which you can learn ways to serve through theatre.

In Theatre for Healing, you will study and practice Applied Theatre in a variety of settings. Applied Theatre is theatre for purposes beyond entertainment: theatre for the differently-abled; for older adults in care settings; for community building; for at-risk youth; in hospitals, prisons, classrooms, and churches; and on missions.

Theatre for Healing prepares you to live out your calling as a Holy Spirit-empowered leader, using your theatre talents to bring hope and healing to others. You will study theatre forms that share real-life stories. You will work with community-based programs to gain practical experience. Most of all, you will experience firsthand the impact you can make on others’ lives.

More than this, our unique mission to develop Spirit-empowered leaders through Whole Person Education can set you apart as a talented and creative professional to impact the world. You’ll experience a life-transforming education that will prepare you for a career in the entertainment industry.
