Bachelor of Arts in
Oral Roberts University’s Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Dance is a residential program that can equip you to become a Spirit-empowered artistic professional. One of the few Christian universities to offer a degree in dance, this program offers three concentration options for you to choose. All of the concentrations enable you to train for technical, academic and artist excellence while blending art with faith to empower you for your future career in dance.
The Dance Performance concentration is committed to helping you discover your artistic voice to embody the spirit of the Lord to go throughout the world with light in the midst of darkness . The Dance Management concentration empowers you to gain competencies to excel in dance, various facets of performing arts management and dance pedagogy. The Dance Pre-Movement Therapy concentration is a pre-professional degree that focuses on modern dance, creative expression and psychology. To become a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT), education must be completed through a master’s degree level.

What makes ORU’s Dance program stand out?
As a student with us you’ll have the option to participate in two dance concerts per year, the annual Christmas concert, musicals and student choreography showcases. ORU Dance gives you the opportunity to attend a conference at the American College Dance Association. This exciting annual event offers a platform to have your choreographic research critiqued by internationally renowned artists. Workshops and concerts provide networking possibilities with other dance professionals.
On top of this, you’ll learn directly from faith-grounded dance professionals who know what it takes to succeed in this creative industry. Students participate in national auditions and have gained graduate school or professional studies placement. Our alumni have gone on to perform with Inlet Dance Theatre, Redlands Dance Theatre, Instruments Ballet Company, Tulsa Opera, Tulsa Modern Movement, Living Water Dance Collective and many others; and with dedication, passion and hard work, you can too!

As a university, we meet the accreditation standards set by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
Are there scholarships available?
Nearly 100% of our full-time, undergraduate residential students receive ORU grants and scholarships through academic achievement and through ORU’s premier scholarship opportunity of our Quest Whole Leader Scholarship.
