Careers with an Integrated Studies Degree

Integrated Studies Careers Example Image

As an integrated studies student at ORU, you'll gain valuable experience across multiple disciplines while developing strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills—tools that prepare you for a wide range of career paths. Your career outlook will be shaped by the specific subject areas you choose to focus on within the program.

Program Features

Because Integrated Studies allows you to shape your own academic path, internships play a vital role in helping clarify your professional direction and connect your coursework to real-world settings. Students have interned in a wide range of industries—including media, nonprofits, education, government, business, and ministry—based on their individual career goals. These opportunities not only build your résumé but also provide insight into the career paths that best align with your strengths and interests. Many internships lead to job offers, professional networks, or inspiration for graduate study.

The Integrated Studies degree is offered in two formats—Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.). Both provide the same strong foundation in your program of interest, but the difference lies in the supporting coursework. The B.A. track includes a foreign language requirement, while the B.S. track emphasizes additional lab science. This flexibility allows you to choose the path that best matches your strengths, career goals, and academic interests.

ORU meets the accreditation standards set by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
