Oral Roberts University Names Holly Moore Board Chair

TULSA, Okla.—The Oral Roberts University (ORU) Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Holly Moore as Board Chair effective immediately. Ms. Moore has served as Vice Chair since April 2017 and will complete the term of Dr. Mike Rakes who recently resigned from the Board to accept a position at another institution. Ms. Moore graduated from ORU in 1986 with her undergraduate degree in Nursing and will be the first alum to serve as Board Chair in ORU’s 56-year history. 
 
Holly has served on the Board of Trustees since 2013. She is an accomplished senior executive with more than twenty-five years of diverse leadership experience in a publicly traded for-profit company as well as both large and start-up non-profit organizations. She is the president of Hollis Strategies where she collaborates with individuals and organizations to help them unlock the full potential of their teams and increase their capacity. Holly has over 14 years of executive experience with non-profit organizations including serving as the Vice President of Advancement for Mercy Ships. Holly also served as a Resident Advisor and Head Resident Advisor during her years on campus at ORU.  

Dr. William Wilson, president of ORU, expressed his anticipation of working with Ms. Moore: “Holly will be a great Board Chair for ORU. Her executive experience, personal savvy, love for ORU, wisdom in working with others and commitment to our mission will serve the Board and University well. She has done a wonderful job as Vice Chair and is poised to successfully lead the Board into the future. What a wonderful added bonus that Holly will also be the first of our alumni to serve in this position.”

Holly stated: “I am honored to have been elected to serve as Board Chair. I believe deeply in the mission of ORU to provide whole person education and experiences to build the next generation of leaders and look forward to working with President Wilson.”
