ORU’s Launch Competition Holds Final Round of Pitches
Tulsa Okla.— Oral Roberts University’s (ORU) Stovall Center for Entrepreneurship will be holding the final round of The Launch competition this Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Launch, held annually at ORU’s Global Learning Center (GLC), provides student entrepreneurs opportunities to receive mentoring, develop strategies, and pitch ideas to real investors. Past winners include Sweet Freaks, a healthy ice cream brand, and TeleportED, a virtual reality reading app.
This year, five teams will compete for $10,000 in cash prizes divided between the top three teams. Each team will pitch their business ideas to a panel of entrepreneurs, executives and investors. The teams are:
Me Time
Me Time is an app centered around visualization that can help prevent and overcome the overwhelming mental illnesses of anxiety and stress on a daily basis. Me Time provides users an accessible platform, giving those who struggle with anxiety a focused, customizable, and safe place to heal. Me Time is committed to helping others change what they see to change how they feel.
Perfect Form
Perfect Form is an artificial intelligence fitness app, serving as a personal trainer in your pocket. Perfect Form will leverage AI and machine learning to create the Adaptive Technology Exercise Management System (ATEMS). The app watches a user’s workout repetitions ensuring they are done with “perfect form." Users are provided feedback and a personalized workout with meal plans based on their progress, goals, and preferred training or diet style.
Pet Loose
Pet Loose is improving ways to find runaway pets, distinguishing itself in the market. Pet Loose plans to offer solar-powered GPS smart collars with two power supplies. With these two power supplies, the GPS battery will charge continually while the GPS tracker remains fully charged.
Swyft Switch
Swyft Switch offers rental property owners a solution to the high cost of property upkeep. Their goal is to reduce the struggle to find trustworthy cleaning and maintenance, allowing rental owners to focus on customer experiences and build better relationships.
Tripli3
Tripli3, the hub of all things travel, generates inspiration through videos and pictures shared by other users, helping travelers plan and book trips online. This eases the trip planning process, whether trying to organize a group trip or find fun places to visit, traveling should be fun and easy, and Tripli3 believes travel planning should be the same.
This event will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the ORU GLC Auditorium. The judges will be Brad Scrivner, President and CEO of Vast Bank; Alex Golimbievsky, Executive Producer at Gitwit; Malachi Blankenship, Venture Advisor for i2E and Managing Partner for ACT Ventures of ACT House; Taleya Mayberry, Program Director at ACT Tulsa and Teresa Knox, MBA Graduate and Entrepreneur.
Admission is free, and business students can earn up to six Professional Development Points (PDPs), which are added to the student's total points at the end of the semester for attendance.
