Tulsa, Okla.— Oral Roberts University’s (ORU) College of Business (COB) partnered with South Korea’s Juan International University (JIU) to host a Korean Executive Leadership program in Tulsa from June 25th-30th. The program was developed for executives to better understand how to integrate their faith with their business—how to become influential Spirit-Empowered leaders. ORU’s ongoing partnership with JIU has expanded its global footprint and the University’s reputation as a leader in international education.

“When we first started the program in Korea, we heard so much about ORU. Through this program, I’ve learned that living out God's Word in the business setting is possible. The generosity, love, and support in the past few days were amazing. On behalf of JIU and all our visitors, we appreciate this special opportunity,” said Dr. Joo Seungjoong, Chancellor of the Juan International University & Senior Pastor at Juan Presbyterian Church.

ORU’s week-long leadership program concluded a 15-week program that began in South Korea. This executive development program culminated in a certificate issued jointly by the two universities. During the week, participants toured Tulsa and attended on-campus sessions highlighting Spirit-empowered leadership in business management.

“The program was amazing; it helped me learn so much,” said Son Ho, Pastor of Bupyung Presbyterian Church, “Since the first day I stepped into Tulsa, the way ORU’s staff presented attention to detail and expressed such care and generosity, I felt the presence of God and the power of Spirit at work.”

During the program, guest speaker Mart Green, the Board Chair of Hobby Lobby/CEO of Mardel, challenged the attendees to pursue generosity, humility, and integrity. Executive courses were also held on the integration of business and faith, effective leadership in a world of disruptors, and business management. Speakers included ORU’s faculty, Dr. Julie Huntley, Dean of the CoB, Dr. David Dyson, Faculty Emeritus of Management, Dr. Bill Crawford, Chair of Undergraduate CoB, and Sean Kouplen from Regent Bank.

“This program was different,” said Sujeong Lee, CEO of E4NET, “It allowed us to see and learn how professionalism and spirituality integrate. All of the speakers had a clear vision that aligned with the vision of ORU.”

ORU’s College of Business focuses on professionalism, business proficiency, and personal growth through faith. The University helps leaders and students learn to pursue wholeness and integrity in their relationships to take into the business world and apply to career success. ORU’s unique form of education—a Spirit-empowered whole-person education—instills leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs with ethical awareness and principled living.
