Tulsa, OK – Oral Roberts University recently announced its 12th consecutive year of
enrollment growth despite the COVID-19 pandemic. ORU officially welcomed over 4300
students for the 2020 fall semester.
“Over the last twelve years, ORU has witnessed an amazing season of growth, for which we are grateful,” said ORU President Dr. William M. Wilson. “A few months ago, we seriously questioned the possibilities of another year of increase. Our enrollment management team has done an excellent job. Over the last two months we’ve seen the miraculous arrival of remarkable young men and women who will become whole leaders to the whole world.”
ORU maintained consistent growth, and also welcomed students from all 50 states and 115 nations. Some of the new nations include Eritrea, Moldova, Paraguay, Syria, and Senegal. The top nations represented at ORU are Nigeria, El Salvador, China, Brazil, and India. ORU continues to express a diverse student population with what is possibly the largest percentage of African-American students in the University’s history with an increase of almost two percent from the previous year.
“The University is providing the option for students to study in the classroom, and virtually with almost 200 students studying remotely. We are thrilled with the growth in online enrollment, but we are glad to see the majority of our students studying on campus during this unique time,” said Dr. Nancy Brainard, Vice President of Enrollment Management.
