Tulsa, OK – The Stovall Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) on the campus of Oral Roberts University is excited to help future business
owners launch their dreams. On Saturday, February 15, 2020, SCE will host the final
round of its Launch Competition, where six finalists will compete for $5,000 in prizes.
The Launch Competition began in September with 22 teams whose ideas ranged from the development of an app for personal trainers to an art café concept. For mentoring and workshops, SCE partnered with SCORE, a thriving community of entrepreneurs and executives who have been successfully mentoring people in how to take their dreams to reality since 1964. Thirteen teams completed the mentoring process and recently six teams were selected to advance to the final round.
Those finalists are:
- Combine Sports Network, a subscription-based website which directly connects athletes with college and club coaches in the U.S.
- TeleportED, an immersive, virtual reality reading game app.
- TrainR, an all-in-one platform that equips personal trainers with the tools they need to succeed.
- Turf Tigers, an environmentally friendly lawncare service that utilizes electric mowers.
- Swift Delivery, a peer-to-peer and contract delivery network.
- #LocalHelp, an app which connects local freelancers with contractors.
The event will be held at ORU’s Global Learning Center from 8:30am to 12:30pm on February 15 and conclude with a reception honoring the winners, financial institutions, judges, and other special guests.
ORU is particularly grateful for the awards sponsors, which include Prosperity Bank, Blue Sky Bank, and Warburton Capital. The judges for the event are: Ryan McDaniel, Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Commercial Banking at Blue Sky Bank; Devon Laney, CEO at 36 Degrees North; Rose Washington, Chief Executive Officer at TEDC Creative Capital; Caleb Caldwell, Project Manager at CCK Strategies; and Chandler Malone, Director of Entrepreneurial Development at Atento Capital.
