Rebecca Poore is currently a Family Nurse Practitioner. She has a variety of nursing experience, ranging from staff development, clinical manager, and charge nurse. During the period of 1984-1989, Ms. Poore worked in the intensive care unit at the former City of Faith. Her nurse practitioner experience includes pediatric surgery, radiation oncology, and hospice.

Rebecca Poore began teaching at ORU as an adjunct instructor in 2002. "Teaching students who want to be nurses is an honor. Teaching is very fulfilling. You are helping to model what excellent nursing care should be to the next generation."

For the last 5 years, Ms Poore has traveled to Nigeria and Ghana with senior nursing students for their Leadership Class, which is a highlight of her year.

Ms. Poore has two beautiful grandchildren of which she is very proud, and it requires more than a few moments for her to tell you about them.

Ms. Poore loves teaching students. "Here at ORU there is such an ethnically diverse student body which promotes the mission of the University to bring healing into every man’s world. Nursing is difficult, but is very rewarding day in and day out."
