Dr. W. Ray Martinez is a passionate servant-leader dedicated to equipping the next generation of Christian leaders. With over two decades of ministry experience, including 13 years as a senior pastor, Dr. Martinez has been a transformative figure in every community he has served.
Growing up in an environment marked by hardship and adversity, Dr. Martinez found himself on a path of self-destruction, but his life was forever transformed at the age of 17 when he surrendered his life to Christ. He entered ministry as a children’s pastor and continued to serve in various pastoral roles within the local church, which helped shape his understanding of the multifaceted aspects of church ministry. He further deepened his understanding of ministry while serving alongside the late Brother R.W. Schambach, a role that profoundly shaped his development as both a leader and a minister.
Dr. Martinez is driven by a deep commitment to the Missio Dei. His international work has taken him to the front lines of human suffering, where he has led efforts to combat human trafficking, provide clean water through well-digging initiatives, and support educational programs in underdeveloped communities. In Ukraine, during the initial stages of the Russian invasion, he organized medical teams to serve in war-torn refugee camps, directly addressing critical health needs. His extensive international experience has enabled him to communicate across cultures and serve diverse communities around the world.
In 2021, Dr. Martinez formally established TruMission, an organization dedicated to serving communities globally. Through this initiative, he continues to expand his impact, providing leadership training and spearheading humanitarian projects, including sustainable feeding programs and support for victims of human trafficking in the Philippines.
In the classroom, Dr. Martinez brings a dynamic Spirit-empowered approach to teaching, helping students understand the importance of inviting the Holy Spirit into every aspect of their lives and ministries. His focus on the power and presence of the Holy Spirit equips students to lead with purpose and conviction in their calling.
Committed to equipping leaders for their mission in Christ, Dr. Martinez regularly teaches in churches and at conferences. His expertise lies in leadership studies, with a focus on leadership development, organizational strategy, and the integration of practical ministry.
Dr. Martinez earned his B.S. in Ministry and Leadership from Williamson College in Franklin, TN, his M.A. in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL, and his Doctor of Strategic Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. He also earned a Diploma in Pastoral Ministry from Rhema Bible Training College in Tulsa, OK, and is an ordained minister with Rhema Ministerial Association International.
In his free time, Dr. Martinez enjoys watching a good movie and hanging out with his wife, Marti, and their two kids, Lilli and Will.
