Dr. Kyung Eun You joined ORU as an Assistant Professor in 2026. She received her B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Melbourne in Australia, followed by an M.S. in Medical Science from Yonsei University in South Korea. She earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2023. After completing her doctoral training, she worked for two years as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM), where her work focused on electrochemical sensors using molecularly imprinted polymers.

Her research interests span a broad range of biomedical engineering fields, including biosensors, electrostimulation, rare cell isolation, microfluidic devices, and wound healing. Her long-term research goal is to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic technologies that minimize patient discomfort and improve quality of life, with an emphasis on translational and patient-centered solutions.

Dr. You is deeply grateful to work in biomedical engineering, a field in she sees an opportunity to serve as God’s instrument to help His creation, especially humanity. This perspective is reflected in the way she approaches her work, with care, purpose, and integrity.

Beyond research, teaching is a calling that Dr. You holds deeply in her heart. She views teaching as a privilege and a responsibility, seeking to support and encourage students as they grow academically and personally. She is passionate about helping students see biomedical engineering not only as a profession, but as a way to serve others and make a meaningful impact.
