Montika Collins presents with a Master of Arts in Health and Wellness Coaching and a concentration in Medical Herbalism from Maryland University of Integrative Health, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oral Roberts University, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology & Chemistry from Northeastern State University, Montika brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her students.

Before joining the faculty at ORU, Montika held several prominent roles that enriched her teaching with practical insights. As the Founder and Executive Director of Innovations Family Wellness INC, she leads strategic initiatives to enhance patient care and promote holistic wellness. Additionally, she serves as the Owner and CEO of Total Family Wellness where she provides visionary leadership and contributes to community health through various programs. Her experience in these positions directly informs her approach to teaching, allowing her to offer students real-world applications of theoretical concepts. At ORU, Montika has taught courses at the Lecture-Clinical rank, guiding nursing students with a focus on holistic, patient-centered care. Her passion lies in imparting the importance of integrating body, mind, and spirit in nursing practice, which aligns with the mission of ORU.

Inside and outside the classroom, She is driven by a commitment to improving maternal health outcomes and addressing healthcare disparities, particularly in underserved communities. Montika’s educational specialties include maternal health, lactation consulting, and wellness coaching. She is particularly interested in addressing socioeconomic disparities in birth outcomes and developing strategies to improve breastfeeding outcomes in minority communities. Her research interests also encompass the impact of early postpartum contraception on lactation and strategies to lower infant mortality rates among African American populations.

Throughout her career, Montika has been recognized for her contributions to healthcare and community service. She has received the Save a Life Hero Award from the American Red Cross and the Everyday Hero Award from Emergency Medical Services. These honors reflect her dedication to making a positive impact both within and beyond the clinical setting. In addition to her professional achievements, Montika is an active member of several professional organizations, including Sigma Theta Tau International, the Coalition of Oklahoma Breastfeeding Advocates, and the International Lactation Consultant Association. She also remains engaged in community initiatives, such as the Annual Lift Every Baby Celebration and previously providing free women’s health and lactation support at CommonGround Church.

Montika Collins is not only a dedicated educator and healthcare professional but also a compassionate leader who is deeply committed to the well-being of her students and the communities she serves. Her holistic approach to health and education continues to inspire and empower those around her.
