Dr. Melissa Bush, Assistant Professor for the Graduate School of Education, has many years of multifaceted experience in education. Dr. Bush grew up in a family of educators, including her parents and numerous aunts and uncles, that helped shaped her love of teaching. Dr. Bush has served secondary students as a science teacher and has many years of teaching experience at the college level in both science and education. Dr. Bush began her journey as an administrator in 2012 and has served as Curriculum Director, Federal Programs Director, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent.  In fact, she served as Superintendent in the same community where her great-grandmother taught in a one-room schoolhouse. 

Dr. Bush holds multiple degrees and certifications. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry Education and a Master of Science degree in College Teaching/Physical Science from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She completed her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership/ Public School Administration from Oral Roberts University. Additionally, she is a National Board Certified Teacher in AYA Science. In all, Dr. Bush holds certifications as Superintendent, Principal, and Secondary Science teaching from the Oklahoma State Department of Education. 

At Oral Roberts University, she specializes in developing educational leaders in Public School Administration. She has received extensive training in curriculum development and has two years of experience as a Superintendent in an Oklahoma public school. Dr. Bush prays that the Lord will utilize her to be an integral piece in the development of Transformed Educators.
