Dr. Jared Johnston comes to Oral Roberts University with a wide variety of experiences in the field of education. Dr. Johnston has served as an ESL instructor, an elementary teacher, a high school social studies instructor, as well as an elementary principal. Further, Dr. Johnston has worked in a variety of locales and settings, including Gimpo, South Korea; Wichita Falls, Texas; Henrietta, Texas; and Huntsville, Alabama. He has served both private and public education institutions.

At the collegiate level, Dr. Johnston most recently served as an adjunct instructor for Southeastern University. While there, he taught courses related to Organizational Leadership. Additionally, Dr. Johnston also worked with Colorado Christian University as an affiliate faculty member. As an affiliate faculty member, Dr. Johnston worked with teacher candidates during their student teaching experiences. 

Dr. Johnston completed his B.A. from Midwestern State University in 2006. He majored in history and minored in sociology. In 2010, he completed his Master's of Education from Wayland Baptist University. Dr. Johnston then completed his Ed.D. at Southeastern University in the spring of 2021. Additionally, Dr. Johnston has teaching certificates from the state of Texas in theatre (EC-12) and social studies (4-12). He also holds a principal certificate (EC-12) from the state of Texas. 

Dr. Johnston teaches graduate leadership courses for the Graduate School of Education, and he serves as the Chair for the department. He is well-published and an accomplished speaker providing professional development for schools locally and abroad.
