Vicki Walker has taught at Oral Roberts University since the fall of 1988. She currently serves as Assistant Professor of Music, coordinating the Music Theory curriculum. Her passion and joy is in the teaching of Harmony, Sight Singing and Ear Training, Applied Piano lessons, and Class Piano.
She has also taught piano to pre-college students at the Janell Whitby School of Music in Tulsa, Oklahoma where her students for the past 26 years have won numerous competitions and awards at the local, district, state and even national levels. Her development of the intermediate to advanced curriculum has provided students with a solid musical background, enabling many to go on into music degrees and fields.
Miss Walker has presented workshops to various music teacher organizations in Oklahoma. She has also adjudicated many state piano festivals and competitions. She has arranged pieces for piano as well as piano ensembles which have been performed in a variety of public venues.
Her greatest passion is teaching the Word of God and His wonderful creation of music. She desires to impart that love to her students as well as develop inquisitive minds to understand the magnificence and depth of His work.
Miss Walker received her Bachelor of Music Education from Oral Roberts University. She holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oklahoma. In addition, she has received her Ministerial Training Certificate from Rhema Bible Training Center.
