Student Association Application

EDUCATION: 

Requires a completion of 30 credit hours prior to assuming the role.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S):

None required.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 


Leadership and experience working with university-age students preferred. 

Must be computer literate with experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, grammar, leadership, administrative, mathematical, multitasking and communication skills are essential.

Must be able to handle multi-tasks and maintain a professional demeanor in a busy office environment having constant contact with the public, both on the phone and in person.

Must have ability to work well with peers and handle heavy traffic in office.

Must be able to develop creative ideas and ability to develop engaging experiences for the Student Body. 

Must maintain a high level of confidentiality of information. 

Must be able to work after 5:00 p.m., some nights and weekends. 

Ability to identify and resolve complex problems efficiently, effectively and independently.

Capable of accomplishing multiple tasks within predetermined deadlines.

Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

Strong student-centered focus; commitment to student satisfaction and success.

Ability to lead in a positive team-oriented manner with a variety of people. (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, Freshmen) 

Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, students and all levels of University administrators, as well as external agencies/groups and the public.
 

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO: 


Sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting of upper body and manual dexterity for operation of office machines and equipment.  Good hearing and vision to include: near, far, color and depth perception. 

 
DEPARTMENT LOCATION:


The department is located on the first floor of the Armand Hammer Alumni Student Center on the ORU campus.  It is accessible by stairs, ramp, elevator or a combination of the same.  Should an accommodation be required please contact the Director of Student Experience.
 

HOURS OF WORK & ATTENDANCE


Normal hours will include weekly staff and departmental meetings. In conjunction, work no more than 10 hours per week. Must be willing to work on some occasional nights and weekends for events. 

 
Reports for scheduled work shift(s) in a dependable and timely fashion in order to assure the smooth operation of the work unit and to minimize the interruption or delay of regular work output for the department.  Has no (or very rare) unscheduled absences, occurrences of tardiness or requests to leave early.  (See employee Handbook for more detail.)
