The Office of Student Success consists of several distinct areas: Student Success and Retention, Career Services, Peer Coaching Programs, Veterans/Active Military, and Parent Resources.

The dedicated STAFF in this office works with students to ensure their success at the university. Take a moment to meet us! The tabs listed at the top of this page contain valuable resources for all ORU students and families.

  • Our STUDENT SUCCESS AND RETENTION staff works with students to help them overcome obstacles that may have become barriers to their success at the university.  We not only partner with students to ensure their academic success, but we help to create solutions that allow students to remain on campus.  Our doors are open to all students, including at-risk students, Bridge students, and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP review) students.

  • The CAREER SERVICES area facilitates employment opportunities and readiness for students and alumni. We connect businesses with students through internships, career fairs, job listings in the Golden Hire Network (a database of employers seeking to recruit students and alumni), and on-campus recruiting. Additionally, we serve students in employment and preparing for the job market through Career Week events, the Education Fair, the Nanny Fair, classroom presentations, workshops, resume help, and mock interviews.

  • The PEER COACHING PROGRAM is our newest addition to the department. It facilitates programs that utilize students helping other students to succeed. The new Eagle Teams program featuring Peer Success Coaches and the GAP International Mentoring program operate within this area.

  •  Our VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY program ensures that our Military students receive exceptional support and resources.  We house a Veterans/Military lounge, special programs and a resource bank.

  •  The Office of Student Success partners with PARENTS to maintain open communication and keep them ‘in the know’ through our ORU Parents Facebook Page, email communications, informational videos and parent resources available on this page. Parents are also welcome to contact our office - together, we can promote an environment of success!

We are located at GC314 (next to Hava Java). Contact us at 918.495.6912.
