The HSRC houses one of the largest and most comprehensive Pentecostal-Charismatic and Holy Spirit collections in the world.  With its vast resources on the Holy Spirit and related topics by some of the most important voices in the movement, the ORU Holy Spirit Resource Center is the best place in the world to study the Holy Spirit.

Wonsuk Ma

Executive Director

Wonsuk Ma (Executive Director of the Center) is a Distinguished Professor of Global Christianity, also serving as a Co-Chair of the Global Network of Spirit-Empowered Scholars (GNSES) of Empowered21, planning and managing the annual Scholars Consultations and editing their books. As a trained Old Testament scholar, his publications include Until the Spirit Comes: The Spirit of God in the Book of Isaiah (T & T Clark, 1999), (with Julie Ma) Mission in the Spirit: Towards a Pentecostal-Charismatic Missiology (Regnum, 2010), and Mission in the Spirit: Formation, Theology and Praxis (Regnum, 2023).

 Research Coordinator

Robert McBain (Research Coordinator of the Holy Spirit Resource Center) is a Ph.D. candidate in the College of Theology and Ministry at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, OK, USA, and an alumnus of the University of Aberdeen, Scotland (MA in History of Art and a PGDip in Practical Theology and Ethics) and ORU (MDiv and a DMin in Church Ministries & Leadership). His Ph.D. dissertation explores how Pentecostals understand depression and how their Pentecostal context shapes their depression experiences. He also serves as the book review editor for two globally recognized journals: Spiritus: Journal of Theology and Salubritas: International Journal of Spirit-Empowered Counseling.

Administrative Assistant

Rebekah Bled (Assistant to the Executive Director) is a Ph.D. Student in Contextual Theology at Oral Roberts University where her research is focused on negotiation of religious identity in Uruguay. She also serves as Managing Editor for the Empowered21 Scholars Consultation titles including Proclaiming Christ in the Power of the Holy Spirit (2020), Good News to the Poor (2022), The Remaining Task of the Great Commission (2023), and The Pandemic and the Holy Spirit (2024).
